Boho goes bang at Ballarat

BOHO Miss made it three wins in 2.5 weeks for the Lake Racing team at Ballarat on Wednesday with a nail-biting victory.
Having travelled the mare to Kyneton racecourse on Tuesday only for the races to be abandoned, the decision to dual accept paid dividends as did a perfect steer from Rhys McLeod.
The sometimes cantankerous Boho Miss had previously had four starts for the stable, placing in three of them, and was most unlucky last start at Benalla when covering ground.
With a tick over trial between runs she overhauled Le Messager by a nose and banked $19,250 for connections.
“She’s very tricky at home she gets worked and hosed and gets left alone and that’s what she likes but we’ve worked her out,” Lake said.
“It’s maybe a little bit ambitious but I like to think she might get to midweek grade in winter she likes wet tracks.
“It’s great to have Rhys ride a winner for me, we obviously go back a long way working closely with him in Melbourne.”
Boho Miss is part-owned by the Catoggio family and carries the silks worn by 1975 Melbourne Cup winner Gala Supreme.
The victory continues a hot run of form with three winners and a nose second for the stable heading into the yearling sales season. Sign up via the homepage to be the first to hear!
Fingers cross the momentum rolls into Friday night at The Valley with smart last start winner Chalice Well.
