Forging a lifelong career in racing would have been a short-priced favourite if pedigree was anything to go by for Toby Lake, with his father a horse trainer and great uncle a champion jockey, Toby's path was always destined to be with horses.

After gaining a wealth of experience in some of the country’s leading stables, Toby is excited to forge his own path and in 2023 launched Lake Racing at the Bendigo Jockey Club.

Billed as the 'Nursery of Champions', Toby will use the state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Central Victoria plus his attention to detail, to get the very best out of his horses with equine welfare, return on investment and communication paramount to his owners.
